Pure CSS Experiments

Pure CSS Experiments

Posted on: 11/07/2010

This collection started due to a post on the Web Help Forum, where one of its members shared her creation of a css based keyboard. I have personally only used css for its intended purpose of styling a website and have never really experimented with it myself. However I am always amazed by what can actually be achieved by it, especially now as more and more people are experimenting with the capabilities of css3.

So below are some examples of just what css can do, while some aren’t the most practical and probably won’t become a standard way to create things within a website, it is amazing what can be achieved with these experiments.

Most of these do just use css but there are a couple that do use images and one that uses a small amount of JS, but these are just for tiny little elements and what is achieved through the css is still very impressive. As some of them are done in css3 when you visit the pages in some browsers they won’t display correctly, but most of them will let you know which browser is best if you want to see these for yourself.
