Visitors to a site can be quite impatient and often if a site hasn’t loaded within a few seconds they will go elsewhere. So its important to make sure that a site you create will load in good time and that the server can handle the traffic. The links below are to pages that can help you monitor the load time of your site and let you see what could be improved so that you’re not keeping your visitors waiting.

WebPageTest

WebPageTest lets you check the loading time of a website from different different geographical locations, it also loads the page twice to see the difference in first and second time visit load times.

GTmetrix

GTmetrix uses Google Page Speed and Yahoo! YSlow to grade your site’s performance and provides actionable recommendations to fix these issues.

Load Impact

Load Impact runs simple load tests with up to 50 concurrent, simulated users to see how well your site can cope. There are also other options to test with more users should the site be likely to gain high amounts of traffic.

Pingdom

Pingdom is a simple load tester that displays a graph of how long it took to load different aspects of a website
